Externships at Division TwoDivision Two maintains an active year-round unpaid externship program. Interested students must consult their school’s Career Services or Externship Supervision Offices to determine their eligibility for these positions. Students may also volunteer as externs and not pay for or receive school credit. Of note, many law clerks first served the court as externs.Externs work with various judges and commissioners:
Externs may also be selected by other Court of Appeals judges to serve in individual chambers. The full-time unpaid positions are open to 1L’s (the summer following their first year), 2L’s and 3L’s. Judge Christine Quinn-Brintnall selects all externs who serve the Court. Judge Quinn-Brintnall opens the application process in the fall for positions that will open during the following summer, fall, winter and spring.
