DUI: A Special Note

Statistics regarding Driving Under the Influence are contained in two sets of tables. For information regarding individual courts, see the caseload tables entitled, "DUI/Physical Control Misdemeanors." These display high-level, court-by-court information on the number of filings, charges, proceedings and dispositions of these cases.

Total statewide figures are available in this section ("Driving Under the Influence" tables). These provide more detail regarding dispositions and sentencing, but are summarized for JIS courts as a whole. Seattle Municipal Court data are not included. A similar report can be obtained for any individual court by contacting that court's administrator directly.

  • The court case activity reported on hyperlinked web pages (HTML) and PDF versions come from courts using AOC-supported case management systems (JIS Courts). Those reports also include aggregated data provided by Seattle Municipal Court and Spokane Municipal Court.
  • The enhanced court case activity reported in Excel format includes data from JIS Courts, King County District Court (KCDC) and Tacoma Municipal Court (TMC), and Fircrest-Ruston Municipal Court (FRM).
    • King County District Court (KCDC) transitioned to a locally implemented and maintained case management system on November 2, 2020. As a result, KCDC court data is not included in the HTML and PDF reports, but data is in the Excel report. Additional KCDC information can be found at https://www.kingcounty.gov/courts/district-court/eFiling.aspx.
    • Tacoma Municipal Court (TMC) and Fircrest-Ruston Municipal Court (FRM) implemented the AOC-supported case management system CLJ-EJ (Courts of Limited Jurisdiction - Enterprise Justice). TMC implementation date - October 23, 2023; FRM implementation date – March 18, 2024. Information about CLJ-EJ is found at https://www.courts.wa.gov/?fa=home.sub&org=cljcms&layout=2.
