Conference Call - Meeting Minutes

Welcome and Call to Order

Judge Spector called the meeting to order at 12:05.

Approval of Minutes

Judge Spector asked if there were any changes to the October 1, 2009 minutes; there were none.

Judge Quinn-Brintnall moved to approve the minutes; Ms. Marusich seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Final Review of Measure 4: Effective Use of Jurors

No additional updates were proposed to the three standards in the jury measure. Those present agreed that the jury measure and the jury management information sheet are ready for testing. Three courts have volunteered as test sites: Seattle Municipal, Thurston Superior, and Cowlitz Superior.

Judge Rietschel moved that testing go forward with these three sites, Judge Buzzard seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Ms. Appel and Ms. Christopher will work on completing the tests before the end of the year.

Next Meeting

Judge Spector reminded the committee that because the Committee is meeting more frequently with conference calls, it is important that everyone read the materials beforehand and be ready to discuss during the calls.

The next meeting will be scheduled after the tests are scheduled and completed.
