Steps to Become a Certified Professional Guardian (CPG)

Get Your Background Checked

All individuals applying to become a Certified Professional Guardian (CPG) must have their background checked. After you have submitted your online application and paid the application fee, a fingerprint card will be mailed to you from the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC).

When you receive the card, complete it carefully. Provide all information requested and take the card to your local police or sheriff's department and get fingerprinted. Please be aware that some police and sheriff's departments require an appointment.
