Call to Order:
Judge Hogan called the meeting to order.

Board Minutes:  A motion was made and properly seconded to approve the minutes as presented.  Motion approved.

Chair Report:  
Judge Hogan commented that the Annual Report to the Supreme Court is delayed somewhat from last year’s timeline and should be out shortly.  This annual report will be distributed to Supreme Court Justices and Superior Court Judges and Court Commissioners. 

Judge Hogan reported that Commissioner Aronow’s resignation from the Board is effective
May 31, 2007.

Vice Chair Report:  No report.

Board Business

Committee Reports

Application Committee
- The cover letter requesting guardian participation in an online survey will be mailed and e-mailed to all certified professional guardians and agencies. Certified guardians will be awarded two general continuing education credits for completing the survey.

Budget Committee - No report.

Education Committee -
Mike Longyear reported that 71 individuals attended the March 29 & 30, 2007 mandatory initial certification training session.  Mike suggested rethinking the possibility of reducing the number of trainings offered each year from two to one, given the large attendance. Ten Board members spoke at the trainings over the two days. 

Ethics Advisory Opinion Committee
– No report.

Public Information Committee A second guardian newsletter will be published once the legislative session end, to allow inclusion of new bills related to the Board and the practice of guardianship.

Standards of Practice Committee – The Review Panel made a motion to pend action on grievance #2005-003 until after April 30th. The motion was properly seconded. The motion passed. Sharon York and
Suzanne Thompson Wininger abstained.

An in-person meeting of the SOPC has been scheduled for May 14 following the Board Meeting.

Old Business – None.

New Business – None.

The next meeting will take place on
May 14, 2007 at the SeaTac facility @ 9:00 am.  
Judge Hogan adjourned the meeting.
