     (e)  Challenge.

          (9)  Peremptory Challenges.  The exercise or
          waiver of peremptory challenges shall be noted
          silently.

     (k)  Statement of Case.  Each party in a civil case
          shall submit a brief statement of the case
          suitable to be read to the jury before the voir
          dire examination.
