Judges in the Classroom Lesson PlanSupreme Justice Video Lessons
General InformationThe Supreme Justice lesson plans were developed by the Office of the Administrator for the Courts for the use by teachers and judges in classrooms to accompany the use of the Supreme Justice video. The video describes the workings of the Washington State Supreme Court by following a case from initial appeal to the filing of a decision. This regional Emmy-winning video was prepared under a State Justice Institute Grant to the OAC and produced by the TVW (Washington State's Public Affairs Network). There are two lesson plans each for the elementary, middle and high school level. The lessons are designed to build on each other. It is, therefore, recommended that both lessons be taught as a unit.
