Starting Salary Range: $68,779 - $76,000/year DOE +benefits
The Public Service Programs Manager is responsible for implementing programs, initiatives and activities to achieve WSBA’s strategic goal of enhancing the culture of service within the WSBA membership. The Manager’s priority objectives are to: 1) develop and manage a menu of opportunities that encourages a greater number of Washington lawyers to engage in public service; 2) oversee a robust platform of support and training for participating lawyers that helps ensure lawyers are qualified and competent for service; and 3) establish a welcoming and inclusive community among participants. The Manager plays a lead role representing WSBA in the Alliance for Equal Justice and in building collaborative relationships with external partners.
This position will manage and coordinate all activities including: build relationships throughout the legal community for the purpose of recruiting, engaging, and stewarding a diverse menu of opportunities to participate in legal programs; manage individual and broadcast communications with all participants leveraging social media and website communication channels; shape training needs and learning opportunities that incentivize participation; manage budgets, timelines, reports, and logistical support staff; co-manage grants and contracts with vendors and partner agencies; and represent the WSBA in managing a portfolio of high priority, relationships with external partners within the Alliance for Equal Justice, Washington’s three law schools, grantees, project partners, funders, and others. This position also staff the WSBA’s Pro Bono and Legal Aid committees and serves as a liaison to WSBA’s Professionalism committee. It is expected that this role will contribute substantively to other WSBA committees, boards, councils, and sections as needed.
Requirements: High degree of reliability, with effective project management, time management, organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently. Working knowledge of Washington’s legal and judicial systems and the Rules of Professional Conduct, demonstrated commitment to inclusion and the ability to collaborate and engage with others with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Demonstrated delegation, coaching, and training skills are essential, as is the ability to inspire others. Occasional statewide travel to meetings is required.
