Starting Salary Range: $36,884 - $40,000/year DOE +benefits

This position provides communications/administrative support to the Communications Team encompassing the areas of online and print communications, social media, media relations, public relations, member outreach/events, speakers bureau, and some committee appointment support. This position serves as a point of information on a variety of departmental matters, having direct contact with many WSBA members, staff, and the public. The role has direct involvement coordinating, tracking, assisting, and initiating a variety of deadlines for an array of communication channels and information.
The operational and production support across the department includes support to NW Lawyer, the official publication of WSBA, classified ads, display/announcement/professional ads, archives, credit card and expense reports, subscription support, and serves as a point of information to WSBA members, staff, and the public. A successful candidate takes direction well and works with minimal supervision, exercises good judgment, has the ability to multi-task, is not easily distracted by interruptions, prioritizes and manages workload, possesses exemplary time-management skills, is well organized, detail-oriented and deadline driven. Some media outreach and social media experience is helpful as is event coordinating to support the Annual Awards Program, 50-year lunch, member town halls, online chats and other events involving member and public. Basic HTML and web/blog positing experience is preferred.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience. BA degree in related field preferred. 1-3 years of communications-related experience. Solid writing and proofreading skills. Proven experience in coordinating/managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Experience in working in a team setting. Some event coordination experience. Some media outreach and social media experience. Relevant internal and external communications experience with a non-profit, association or agency a plus. Skilled in writing news releases, basic web copy, fact sheets, and other strategic communications pieces is preferable. Basic knowledge of HTLM and familiarity with web/blog posting is desirable. Ability to work with minimal supervision; high attention to detail; creative thinker, team player, strong writing and proof-reading skills; strong proficiency using MS Office and superior computer/tech skills; knowledge and experience using social media as strategic communications tools; ability to multi-task, prioritize work appropriately, and manage own work load; excellent organizational and project-management skills.
