POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Municipal Court of Seattle is one of the highest volume Courts of Limited Jurisdiction in the state with 13 judicial officers and more than 200 employees. The Court’s Human Resources Unit has an opportunity for a talented recruiter to join our team for approximately three months as a temporary Personnel Specialist. We will host interviews on Friday- February 1, 2013 and, after completing reference and background checks, anticipate a start date of February 8, 2013.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examples of work or tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Leading the Court’s hiring processes, including providing consultative HR guidance to hiring managers;
• Developing recruiting, outreach, and diversity recruiting strategies;
• On-boarding new hires;
• Inputting changes into the HRMS; and
• Managing and implementing career development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, social sciences, or related field.
• One year of experience working in the public sector as a human resources professional is required (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience).
• Experience using Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related computer software programs.
• Experience communicating effectively (verbal, written, and listening skills), including preparing HR-related materials, correspondence, and other business communications.
• Experience working independently and as a team player in an environment that requires a high-degree of professional judgment and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated experience working effectively with executive, professional, and clerical staff (both represented and non-represented).

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with a human resource information system like ADP’s Enterprise, version 5.
• Experience in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and/or hiring using an applicant tracking system like NeoGov.
• Experience designing or conducting training sessions.
• Professional certification by the Society for Human Resource Management (PHR).
