QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Two year’s law enforcement experience, including graduate from a Washington State Basic or Reserve Law Enforcement Academy, experience with security measures and devices and crowd control.
Must obtain a Special Commission from the Thurston County Sheriff's Office at time of hire.
Must possess, or obtain upon hire, a concealed weapons permit from the State of Washington. Officers are required to provide their own weapon, which meets Thurston County Sheriff’s Office standards.
Must be trained and qualified within the past 12 months in the use of a short firearm, with requirement to successfully re-qualify with Sheriff’s Deputies.
Must maintain a valid First Aid Card with certification in the use of the Life Pak Emergency Defibrillator.
Must be able to pass background investigation which may include but is not limited to employment history, criminal history, psychological evaluation and a polygraph exam.
Must have a valid Washington State Drivers License or have requested and obtained an appropriate accommodation.
