CHELAN COUNTY DISTRICT COURT
SALARY & BENEFITS: Starting salary range is $2,628.96 – 3,043.30 per month, depending on experience. Union membership is required. A choice of Chelan County benefits are available.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or equivalent plus two years clerical and computer experience, preferably in a court or legal office, or any combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledge and skills: knowledge of the operation of the court and case processing activity; knowledge of office practices; ability to type at least 45 words per minute, ability to work independently in a high-pressure, culturally diverse work environment; ability to make responsible decisions in accordance with laws, court policies and procedures; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public officials and the general public; and skill in operating standard office machines and equipment, including computers. Fluent bi-lingual English/ Spanish ability will be given consideration.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in a office environment. On occasion the employee may be exposed to potentially anti-social behavior. As a requirement, the employee may be sitting or standing for extended periods of time, and need dexterity to operate a computer terminal.

¨ Processing case files, filing, retrieving and preparing court related documents.
¨ Responds to telephone and counter inquiries; sorts and routes documents, and may initiate correspondence responding to court related inquiry or requested information.
¨ Receives payment of court fines, bail penalty assessments and fees, recording and receipting payments according to established court procedures
¨ Enters, updates, retrieves and processes computer data.
¨ May assist in the courtroom.
¨ Performs general duties associated with processing warrants, citations, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
¨ Performs such other duties as required.
