OPINION NO. 88-15



Question
     Does CJC Canon 5 (B) (2) prohibit the spouse of a commissioner from
participating in the solicitation of funds for a charitable organization?

Answer
     CJC Canon 5 (b) (2) does not prohibit a commissioner’s spouse from
participating in fundraising for a charitable organization.  However, the
commissioner should refrain from all participation in the fundraising
activities and should not be in any way identified with the fundraising
activities.
