Question
     Can a court put a telephone listing in the white pages of the
telephone directory (as a supplement to other court listings) which would
read as follows: "Wedding or Marriage Information Line"?

Answer
     The Code of Judicial Conduct does not prohibit a listing on wedding
information in the white pages of a telephone directory.  The judicial
officers should, however, avoid any appearance that they are using the
telephone listing to solicit weddings or otherwise personally benefit from
the listing.  The use of court personnel to assist in wedding arrangements
should not interfere with the ability of court personnel to perform their
official duties.
