Request Summary:

This request seeks to enhance JIS to allow criminal and juvenile judgment records to be sealed.

Business Impacts:

Court staff would have the ability to seal judgment records.

Summary of Proposed Solution

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) would enhance SCOMIS to allow sealing of Judgments (Case Type 9s) in SCOMIS.

Proposed Solution

AOC would update JIS to allow the sealing action on a Case Type 9 based on action initiated by the user.  The Case Type 9 would not be sealed automatically by JIS when the underlying case is sealed.  Instead, the court user would seal the Case Type 9 as a separate action.
