User IDsBecause JIS-Link is now available from any PC with Internet access, we strongly recommend you obtain a separate user ID for each member of your staff accessing the system. Your JIS-Link Subscription and License Agreement makes you responsible for all charges attributable to your user IDs. If a member of your staff continues to use the system after leaving your employ, you will be responsible for the usage charges. The Site Coordinator at your location is responsible for deleting user IDs assigned to staff no longer authorized to access JIS-Link. Error messages If you get a "This page cannot be displayed" message, refresh the screen. If using the function key caused the message, try clicking the corresponding function key on the screen. Likewise, if clicking the function key on the screen caused the error, try pressing the corresponding function key on your keyboard.
If you get an "Error Sending Data to Application" message, you have probably timed out of the JIS session due to inactivity. Try signing on again. If you still get the message, the JIS system may be down. Wait a few minutes before trying again.
If you get a "Multiple Requests Submitted" message, you have sent a request to the mainframe before the previous one was processed. In this situation, both requests are terminated. Simply click the "refresh" button on the message page to return to where you were in the application, then enter your request again.
Function keysDepending on the configuration of your keyboard, some of your keys may not work as described in the JIS-Link Manual. These include the new line key (right hand "Ctrl"), page up (PA1), and page down (PA2). You will need to use alternate keys such as PF7 and PF8 for paging, or the tab or arrow keys to move between lines.
You will also notice buttons for the function keys at the bottom of each screen. These correspond to the function keys on your keyboard. For some keyboards, you will be able to use the function keys on the keyboard. If not, you will have to click the corresponding button on the screen.
Viewing and printing JIS screensTo print, use CTRL P. This will bring up a dialog box allowing you to select the print, and the number or copies.
Under "Print Range," the default is "All." This will print the entire page, including headers and the function keys. To print only the JIS screen, use your mouse to highlight the information, then mark "Selection" under Print Range in the dialog box.
To copy screens as text, highlight the information you want on the screen, use Ctrl C, open a word processing document, and use Ctrl V to copy your text. Change the font to a non-proportional 9 point font such as Courier 9 to get the screen to line up in your document.
When viewing the JIS screens, you may need to scroll left/right or up/down to view the entire screen.
Logging off of JIS-LinkDO NOT use the 'x' in the upper right corner of the screen until you have disconnected and received a confirmation screen showing "Your Washington State Courts JIS-Link connection has been disconnected."
Sign off the applications as follows
Sign Off the TPX Menu
After closing all active applications, it is necessary to exit the TPX Menu as well. When the TPX Menu displays, type 'F' in the Command=> field at the bottom of the screen, and press ENTER. The AOC Sign-on Screen will display. You may now click on the 'x' in the upper right corner of the screen to exit JIS-Link.
If you disconnect improperly, the following situation will occur
The system monitors your activity, and if you do not process a screen or press a function key for 10 minutes, the JIS System sign you off to the AOC Screen. The application where you were working is still active for 30 minutes even though you have been logged off to the AOC screen. This ties up computer resources. If you reconnect during this time frame, you will go directly to the same screen within the application you were on when you disconnected incorrectly.
