Usage Notes

These codes are used on the Charge screen for a Criminal or Juvenile Offender case.

Note: For cases prior to 1984, the only DEF. RESOLUTION codes that are available are DSCT - Dismissal by Court and DSPR - Dismissal by Prosecutor. Leave the field blank if you do not have enough case record to differentiate between the two. (DSCT requires a defendant resolution date on or before 12/31/1983.)

1. Vacation of Conviction - On the SCOMIS charge screen, enter a V in the RS (Result Code) field for each charge covered by an order to vacate a conviction pursuant to RCW 9.94A.230. The Jg (Judgment Status) field on the JIS Defendant Case History (DCH) and Individual Case History (ICH) screens are also updated. If there are no remaining guilty counts for the defendant, enter VOC in the Def Resolution Code field on the Charge screen. Refer to the Superior Court Statistical Reporting Manual for complete instructions when a vacation of conviction is ordered.
