JURISDICTION CODES

A jurisdiction in JIS is a county, city or town for which the court provides services. A jurisdiction's Official/Organization record is created and maintained by AOC. Each jurisdiction has a three character code. Using the Organization Association screen (ORA), a court is linked or associated to it's jurisdictions. Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) are linked or associated to the jurisdiction(s) for which they write tickets.

Search for a jurisdiction code using the Official/Organization Duplicate (OOD) command with the name of the jurisdiction and the name type code JR. Remember that names of cities begin with "City of" or "Town of" and counties begin with "County of".
