Washington’s Women Supreme Court Justices to be honored as “Women of the Year”

At a reception on Thursday, March 6^th Washington’s female Supreme Court Justices will be honored as “Women of the Year” by the Seattle University School of Law and the Washington Women Lawyers Foundation. 

The Supreme Court Justices plan to attend the reception, set to start at 5:30 p.m. at Seattle University School of Law.  

“We’re delighted to honor the members of the Washington Supreme Court,” said Seattle University Women’s Law Caucus President Emily Thelen.  “Washington is one of only two states in the nation with a female majority. It is women like these who teach those of us still in law school not to believe in the durability of the proverbial glass ceiling, that anything we dream is possible.”

As a part of the celebration, the justices will receive individual awards in honor of National Women’s History Month, for the historic achievement.  

The reception will be held in the second floor gallery of Sullivan Hall at Seattle University.
