Washington Courts: Press Release Detail

Administrative Office of the Courts Appoints Deputy State Court Administrator

January 05, 2007

The Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) has appointed Jeff Hall as Deputy State Court Administrator, effective immediately.   Hall is currently employed by the AOC, serving as Executive Director for the Board for Judicial Administration (BJA) the policy-setting body for Washington’s judiciary.

Appointed by State Court Administrator N.A. “Butch” Stussy, Hall will continue to serve as the BJA Executive Director and as the agency’s legislative liasion, in addition to his new duties.

“Jeff’s leadership with the Board for Judicial Administration has been outstanding,” said Stussy.  “As a former court administrator in Washington, the courts and the public will be well-served by his expertise in judicial administration.”

As Deputy State Court Administrator, Hall will help lead the AOC created by the Legislature in 1957 to provide professional and technical support to the state’s 255 courts.  The agency operates under the direction and supervision of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

In addition to his tenure as a division director for the AOC for four years, Hall served as the Benton/Franklin Superior Court Administrator and held senior staff positions at the AOC and with Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona.  Hall obtained his Masters Degree in Judicial Administration from the University of Denver in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts from Seattle University in 1986.

The AOC is responsible for the execution of administrative policies and rules in Washington’s judicial system.  AOC compiles court statistics; develops and promotes management procedures to accommodate needs of state courts; studies and evaluates information relating to the operations of the judicial system; and provides pertinent information on court operations to the members of the judicial community, branches of government and the public.
