Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Slip Opinions are Maintained on the Washington State Courts' Website for 90 days

Upcoming Changes to the Display of Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Opinions

Beginning February 25, 2013, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals will begin providing an exact PDF copy of all opinions filed, along with the opinion information sheet.
All PDF copies of the slip opinions filed on, or after, February 25, 2013 will remain on the Washington Courts website for a minimum of 15 years.
Once filing of the exact PDF copy of the slip opinions begins, a text (HTML) version of the opinions will no longer be made available on the website. The text versions introduced format errors to the opinions and changes to the pagination. This enhancement will solve these discrepancies.

Opinions Filed More Than 90 Days Ago

Historical Washington case law from 1854 forward is available at www.legalWA.org. Note: The data at this site does not mirror the report of the opinions in the official reports of the Washington Supreme Court (Wn.2d) and the Court of Appeals (Wn. App.). The Washington official reports are the sole authoritative source of Washington judicial opinions. To ensure accuracy, all data at www.legalWA.org should be checked carefully against the opinion in the official reports, which can be found at all county law libraries in the state of Washington.
