The Gender and Justice Commission (GJCOM) welcomes the opportunity to work with judges, lawyers, agencies and individuals to eliminate gender bias in the legal profession and within the law and justice system.

This site gives you access to information about the Commission, including its history, operations and areas of focus. In addition it offers links to many publications, programs, agencies and initiatives that promote gender equality. We hope these resources will enhance your understanding of the issues and the efforts that are underway to reshape our system to ensure that justice works for everyone. Commission Publications

	Gender and Justice Commission Annual Report 2008 - 2010 The Commission's annual report highlighting our role during the last biennium in addressing gender equality within the justice system.
	The Washington State Legislature, in enacting ESHB 2777 (Laws of 2010, Ch. 274), directed the Administrative Office of the Courts through the Gender and Justice Commission to develop: Model Policy - Rescission or modification of no contact orders Guidelines for reconciling duplicate or conflicting no contact orders A pattern form for all domestic violence no contact orders.
	Washington State Women Judicial Officers - 2012 Annual report of women Judicial Officers in Washington State. Currently, women comprise 35% of the judicial officers in the state.
	Gender & Justice in the Courts - Final Report The Final Report of the Washington State Task Force on Gender and Justice in the Courts contains findings and recommendations following two years of study. Chapters focus on the treatment of women in substantive law areas of family law, domestic violence, and sexual assault and the treatment of women in the court environment. Appendices contain the results of surveys of judges, attorneys, and domestic violence and sexual assault service providers.
	The Glass Ceiling Survey Conducted by the Northwest Research Group, Inc. the 2001 Self-Audit for Gender and Racial Equity was designed to answer the following question: Based on objective data, what is the status of women and minority lawyers in private law firms in the State of Washington?
