Equal Justice

The logo was created for the cover of the 1994 Annual Report. We utilized the talents of Sekio Matsumoto, a graphic artist in Seattle, who has created a logo showing peoples with raised arms symbolically represented as white, black, yellow and brown. The image is enhanced by the shading and gradation of color which represents a fusion into an indivisible whole--all the while maintaining individual identity. The words "Equal Justice" are repeated in English, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese. In the center of the circle is the scales of justice. We are proud of this logo which conveys more than words the significance of cultural diversity in the achievement of equality before the courts.
