About the Artist

Yadesa "Yaddi" Bojia
An art graduate of Seattle Pacific University in Visual communication and Seattle Central Community College as a graphic designer. Yadesa “Yaddi” Bojia, a native of Ethiopia, followed his passion of painting for a serious reason of raising awareness for social change. Yaddi believes artists have more responsibility today than any other time to involve for a change that helps the poor, the neglected, and voiceless people among us. Yaddi’s exposure to African art and western art and also the western art to that of African. Yaddi believes his work is a byproduct of the cultural difference he enjoyed while he lived in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia and Seattle. In his work he tries to capture the life of those who are “invisible” to the mainstream, and he hopes that his work will be a tool for social change. Yaddi lives and works in Seattle.
