SSB 5540 allows local school districts to install automated cameras on school buses to detect violations by vehicles that fail to stop for a bus that displays a stop signal. School districts will enter into contracts directly with camera vendors.
To implement the revenue distribution under this bill, 19 Cost Fee Codes were created, and are set out below. An affected court will assign one CFC code for each school district in their jurisdiction that contracts with a vendor and installs the automated school bus camera.
(Process school bus safety camera infractions as parking infractions. A portion of the revenue collected is distributed to the court for administrative costs. Use SZZ to process the revenue received for a court’s administrative costs.)
