Courthouse Facilitators

Fees and Costs

Some counties charge for courthouse facilitator services.  Fees range from $10 to $60 per appointment.  Some counties may also, or instead, assess a surcharge on the filing fee for a family law case.  Low income parties may request that a filing fee be deferred for payment or waived.   Click here for a copy of RCW 26.12.240, the statute that authorizes facilitator program fees.  Click here for a copy of GR 34, the court rule that addresses fee waivers.

Many facilitator programs sell “do it yourself” family law kits with forms and instructions.  Prices vary, depending on the size of the kit.  The kits usually include procedures that comply with local rules for that county.  Check with your county’s facilitator program for a list of available kits.  Click here for a list of courthouse facilitator programs.
