Business Area: Court Case Management
Communities Impacted: County Clerks
Impact if not Resolved: High
Impact Description:

AOC will have to continue spending valuable resources in supporting the legacy system, SCOMIS, Case Replication, and Party Synchronization.

What is the Business Problem or Opportunity

One of the business priorities of the Superior Court Portfolio Strategy is to retire the legacy system known as SCOMIS. This requires replacing JIS with Enterprise Data Repository (EDR) as the statewide data source identified in the Statewide Data Standard.

This request is a two phase request.

Phase 1 is to conduct the analysis, design, develop and test a solution to directly update the EDR with data from Odyssey that is included in the statewide data standard.

Phase 2 is to conduct the analysis for the remaining scope of work necessary to retire SCOMIS. This includes identifying all of the remaining dependencies on SCOMIS. The items associated with that effort includes but is not limited to:

  1. Pierce County LINX system integration with JIS/SCOMIS.
  2. Data Exchanges with partner agencies and organizations.
  3. Juvenile Referrals process.
  4. Local data reporting capabilities.
  5. Etc.
Expected Benefit:

Phase 1:

  • Ensures that AOC is compliant with JISCR 13 by ensuring that its CMS systems are sending data to the Enterprise Data Repository (EDR).
  • Puts AOC one step closer to being able to retire SCOMIS.

Phase 2:

  • Reduces the resources necessary to maintain the legacy case management system, SCOMIS.
  • Reduces mainframe costs associated with retaining the legacy case management system, SCOMIS.
  • Ability to align resources toward strategic future state goals currently being utilized to keep the legacy system data exchanges, reporting functions etc. operational.
