  • The court case activity reported on hyperlinked web pages (HTML) and PDF versions come from courts using AOC-supported case management systems (JIS Courts). Those reports also include aggregated data provided by Seattle Municipal Court and Spokane Municipal Court.
  • The enhanced court case activity reported in Excel format displays statewide available data.
    • King County District Court (KCDC) transitioned to a locally implemented and maintained case management system on November 2, 2020. As a result, KCDC court data is not included in the HTML and PDF reports, but data is in the Excel report. Additional KCDC information can be found at https://www.kingcounty.gov/courts/district-court/eFiling.aspx.
    • Tacoma Municipal Court (TMC) and Fircrest-Ruston Municipal Court (FRM) implemented the AOC-supported case management system CLJ-EJ (Courts of Limited Jurisdiction - Enterprise Justice). TMC implementation date - October 23, 2023; FRM implementation date - March 18, 2024. Information about CLJ-EJ is found at https://www.courts.wa.gov/?fa=home.sub&org=cljcms&layout=2.
  • Nine early adopter courts implemented the CLJ-EJ case management system on Oct 26, 2024. They are Asotin District, Cheney Municipal, Colfax Municipal, Columbia District, Douglas District, East Wenatchee Municipal, Franklin District, Garfield District, and Whitman District.
Impacts to the October 2024 caseload report for these nine early adopter courts:
    • Current Caseload reports (HTML & PDF format) will be undercounted due to court information that has not been updated in JIS.
    • Case filings report in EXCEL format is undercounted as a result of incomplete court information in the statewide data repository.
  • Efforts will continue to provide complete information in the statewide reports from the statewide data repository.
  • Questions about the published caseload reports can be submitted using the resources found on the Caseload Publication Information site: https://www.courts.wa.gov/caseload/?fa=caseload.display&folderID=content/info&fileID=index
