Courthouse Facilitators
Walla Walla County
The Walla Walla Court Facilitator will be on the 3rd floor of the courthouse at 1:00 on Friday afternoons. She will also go to court with you upon request. The Court Facilitator
- Can explain how things will happen in court and will go with you to your final hearing, but she cannot advocate for you;
- Can check paperwork for completeness and give you limited help in filling out paperwork;
- Can help you make sure you have all the forms you need for court;
- Will refer you to other agencies that can help you;
- CANNOT give you legal advice or other personal advice;
- Is NOT your attorney (consult an attorney if you need legal advice);
- May be helping your spouse or the other parent in the same way she is helping you; and
- Can give you access to the Computer Lab at BMAC to fill out legal forms.
ALSO:
- Your communications with the facilitator are not confidential or otherwise privileged. Therefore, the only personal information that is kept is your name and telephone number. The facilitator does not keep a copy of any of your documents or personal information.
VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
- Please call the YWCA for a legal advocate to assist you with a protection order. (509) 525-2570, Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. If it is an emergency, call 911.
- Call the court facilitator for assistance with a divorce, parenting plan, child support orders, temporary emergency orders, or other family law matters.
