INTRODUCTIONS
Cathy noted that two new members have been appointed to the committee, replacing Joe McGuire and Margaret Yetter, by the District and Municipal Court Managers Association: Terri Cooper, Medical Lake Municipal Court Administrator and Kathleen Schmieder, Lakewood Municipal Court Administrator.
- Minutes Approval
The committee approved the June 20 meeting minutes.
- Project Updates
Alan summarized the current status of development projects at the AOC. See Attachment 1, Project Updates.
- Change Requests
- The committee reviewed and made decisions on the following requests.
- 150361 - Report RTN Address Changes to Affected Courts (CLJ & Superior)
The committee approved this request for 2003 implementation as recommended by AOC. The committee also identified a Best Practice Task Force to develop business policy and procedural recommendations for all courts to use the report. Rena will seek a King County Superior Court person to represent large courts and Pat will assign someone from her office to represent smaller courts. Terri will coordinate with DMCMA to assign at least one representative from a large and small limited jurisdiction court with a restitution disbursement workload. Cathy will see that the task force meets and has a timeline for developing the best practice recommendation. Alan will identify someone from the JIS Education unit to work with the Task Force.
- 217601 - Judgment Filed Date On CAR Screen (Superior Only)
The committee approved this request for Migration.
- 223359 - Clerk's Dismissal Forms (CLJ & Superior)-Approved)
The committee acknowledged CLJ Subcommittee approval, and approved the request with the following provisions:
- That the Superior Court Subcommittee approve the request when it next meets; and,
- That the dismissal forms include modifications and new estimates (if necessary) to conform to GR 14.
- 227846 - Modify SMC Person Upload Criteria (CLJ & Superior)
The committee approved this request as recommended.
- The committee reviewed the status of the following requests:
a. 212362 - Truancy Filing Process (Superior Only)
Alan reported that additional detail analysis will be performed on this item that will identify alternatives for resolving the difficulty encountered by Juvenile and Superior courts using different processes to link parents and kids in Truancy cases.
b. 222551 - Interpreter Docket Code (CLJ Only)
This is a simple code request and will be implemented as approved by the CLJ Subcommittee.
c. 225255 - Pierce District 1 Name Change (CLJ Only)
Alan reported that based on the rough sizing that this is a large change the CLJ Subcommittee has approved it for Migration. Court initials are used as index/key values in the system by over 100 tables, so the change requires that a conversion program be developed, tested, and run against all tables.
Cathy noted that King County will be making the same request based on the upcoming closure of Federal Way and Renton District Courts in 2003.
d. 225627 - Condition of Sentence Codes (CLJ Only)
This is a simple code request and will be implemented as approved by the CLJ Subcommittee.
e. 226710 - DNA Sentence Tracking Code (CLJ Only)
Alan noted that although this simple code request was approved by the CLJ Subcommittee, a data dissemination question concerning the display of the DNA code on the docket needed resolution before implementation of the code could proceed. If there is a data dissemination issue, programming changes would be required and the request would then be returned to committee.
f. 227086 - Exclude Certified Copy Charges from CLJ Docket
This is code request that requires program changes. It was approved by the CLJ Subcommittee for migration implementation only.
g. 227845 - Accounting Code for Public Defender Interview Fees
This is a simple code request and will be implemented as approved by the CLJ Subcommittee.
IV. Next Meeting Date: December 19, 2002
