Training Plans

Brian Backus gave a presentation on AOC’s plans to give training to court personnel on public access to court records and the court personnel response to requests from the public.  The plan was enthusiastically endorsed by the subcommittee.

Changes to Data Dissemination Contract

Mr. Backus gave a presentation regarding changes to the data dissemination contract and provided copies of the suggested changes.  The subcommittee agreed to the following changes:

  1. Add the words "or to take other appropriate action to" to Section 4(c) on Social Security Numbers.
  2. Note in Section 5(C) that any exceptions to the prohibition on the resale of data will be in the Addenda.
  3. Add Section 12(A) obligating the licensee to ensure its subscribers' compliance.
  4. Add Section 13 on Assignment and Section 14(D) on Termination to deal with situations where the licensee may file for bankruptcy or otherwise cease business.

Mr. Backus will prepare another contract with the above suggested changes and distribute to the subcommittee.

GR 15 and 22

Judge Grosse believes that the subcommittee needs direction from either the JISC or the Supreme Court before we can work on these issues.

Next Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled for September 26, 2003 unless issues develop that requires an earlier meeting.
