Amendments to Standards for Indigent Defense

On December 15, 2025, the Supreme Court issued a final order adopting amendments to the Standards for Indigent Defense under CrR 3.1, CrRLJ 3.1, and JuCR 9.2. The order is available here.

In October 2019, the Administrative Office of the Courts, with the assistance of the Reporter of Decisions office and web services team, reviewed the current status and formatting of the State Court Rules. As a result, technical corrections were made to the online versions of court rules based on Washington Reports and the formatting has been standardized. Most State Court Rules are published in .pdf format for optimal viewing on a widely accessible platform.

The reformatting and conversion of documents to this website may have inadvertently introduced errors, which will be corrected as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience as we identify and resolve any discrepancies.

The Washington Reports Official Advance Sheets are the official record of State Court Rules.

Local Court Rules
Many local courts maintain their court rules on their own website. While links are provided to these local sites, the Washington State Courts website does not have the responsibility for updating these local court sites and therefore, cannot verify that the links, or published versions, are current. Per GR 7(d), the clerk of court maintains a complete set of local court rules. Local court rules are published on this webpage for convenience but are not the official record of the local court.
