(a) In criminal cases set for jury trial, it is mandatory that the attorneys, or defendant in a
 pro se case,notify the court at readiness hearing whether or not they will proceed to jury trial.
If the trial is cancelled at a party's request following readiness hearing,terms may be assessed against
the attorneys in an amount equal to the cost of summoning a jury panel.
