Impact Description: |
- AOC is the only resource of gathering data for the juvenile courts. It is absolutely necessary that the courts have comprehensive and correct data in order to fulfil its mission and report data back to the Legislature.
What is the Business Problem or Opportunity |
- Business Need: The JCS community needs to receive comprehensive pre-formatted and ad-hoc reports with data from the Juvenile Assessment tool. These reports need to be able to access both new data collected and historical data from the Data Warehouse.
Issue: The current tool (Positive Achievement Change Tool or PACT) sends data to the Data Warehouse where comprehensive and ad-hoc reporting can be done with BITS. The new tool (Juvenile Court Assessment Tool or JCAT) is being developed to provide some reporting, but this reporting functionality may not as comprehensive or robust as needed for research, development or reporting requirements of the JCS program.
Issue: The JCAT is not presently designed to access the decades of information that has already been collected by the PACT and sent to the Data Warehouse or to send the data it collects to the Data Warehouse.
Expected Benefit: |
- Ability for the juvenile courts to have the data and pre-written and adhoc reports necessary to be fully functional in serving the needs of juvenile offenders and administrating evidence-based programming throughout the State.
Any Additional Information: |
This new software (JCAT) will be used statewide to perform offender risk and needs assessments, provide case management and track progress and outcomes. The BITS reports are extremely useful and necessary for monthly billing to Juvenile Rehabilitation and tracking of Evidence Based Programs (EBP) and their outcomes as well as reporting on Juvenile matters to the Washington State Legislature.
