Impact if not Resolved: |
Low |
Impact Description: |
While the impact may be low if this request is denied, the benefits of approving this request for intergration is invaluable. Integration of interpreter online scheduling systems will improve court services for the LEP customer which will also improve the public's trust and confidence in our judicial branch. This will improve customer service for all courts.
|
|
|
What is the Business Problem or Opportunity |
To streamline processes and enhance proficiencies, courts that use online scheduling systems for securing interpreters will appreciate having these systems intergrate with case management systems. I listed the Moli Interpreter Scheduling System, but there are other interpreter scheduling systems that courts are using for a more efficient way of scheduling interpreters to meet the need and improve access to justice for the LEP customers. While I understand that AOC is looking into possibly creating an interpreter online scheduling system, I thought it would be important to submit a request for intergration in case some courts make the decision to continue using current vendors for their processes. I also understand that it may take some time for the interpreter scheduling integration as the prioirty is to get the CLJ-CMS system up and operational for all CLJs, it is improtant to get this request on the list.
|
Expected Benefit: |
Integration of interpreter scheduling systems with case management systems will enhance access to justice for the LEP court customers. It will also improve the court processes and create efficiencies through intergration that do not currently exist. The intergration will also allow AOC to capture information from courts that are not participating in the LAIRP. Right now the LAIRP only captures information submitted by participating courts which means there is a large percentage of information AOC is not capturing. This missing data may be a key component to AOC receiving the funding needed to assist courts with improving language access.
|
Any Additional Information: |
This request is not limited to CLJs. This integration will be a benefit for ALL court levels.

Request Summary: |
This request is for the Integration of the Moli Interpreter Scheduling System with Enterprise Justice.
|
Business Impacts: |
This change will enhance access to justice for the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) court customers. It will also improve the court processes and create efficiencies through intergration that do not currently exist. The intergration will also allow AOC to capture information from courts that are not participating in the Language Access Interpreter Reimbursement Program (LAIRP). Right now, the LAIRP only captures information submitted by participating courts which means there is a large percentage of information AOC is not capturing. This missing data may be a key component to AOC receiving the funding needed to assist courts with improving language access.
|
Summary of Proposed Solution |
The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) would:
• Submit a Change Request for Tyler Technologies to develop an API for Enterprise Justice (EJ) that enables the addition of interpreter resources to be added to an existing hearing
• Develop of a web-hook that creates a façade for the Tyler API
• Develop the Information Hub routing call to the above described API façade.
• Create an externally facing API end-point in the eAPI system
|
Proposed Solution |
AOC proposes to create an external facing end-point in the eAPI, which will call the Information Hub, and will route the request to the CLJ-CMS.
