Upgrade DB2 from version 12 to DB2 Version 13 as DB2 Version 12 goes end of life December 31, 2025.
Preliminary investigation shows minimal impact to the JIS Application code, similar to Version 12.
Our Implementation Plan:
1) Upgrade DB2 Version 12 in the Test Regions (Subsystems J,T, A) with the Fallback-V12 Maintenance Level on March 2025 Maintenance Weekend.
2) Upgrade the DR DB2 P & D Subsystems Version 12 to the Fallback-V12 Maintenance Level during the March, 2025 DR Test, after the DB2 DR Recovery is completed.
3) Order DB2 Version 13 on March 31, 2025.
4) Upgrade the DB2 P & D Subsystems Version 12 to the Fallback-V12 Maintenance Level on the April 2025 Maintenance Weekend.
5) Upgrade to DB2 Version 13 in the Test Regions (Subsystems J,T, A) on the May 2025 Maintenance Weekend.
6) Upgrade the DR DB2 P & D Subsystems to Version 13 during the September 2025 DR Test, after the DB2 Version 12 DR Recovery is completed.
7) Upgrade to DB2 Versions 13 in the P & D Subsystems on the October 2025 Maintenance Weekend.
