Impact if not Resolved: High
Impact Description:

If we do not upgrade, we risk falling out of Hyland's active support window, which can limit our access to critical security patches, bug fixes, and technical assistance. Over time, this may lead to increased system vulnerabilities, compatibility issues with other enterprise applications, and higher maintenance costs.

Additionally, we will miss out on key productivity and usability improvements introduced in newer versions, such as responsive forms, enhanced workflow tools, and modern integration options. This could hinder our ability to support evolving business needs, reduce user satisfaction, and delay adoption of future-ready technologies like AI-driven content intelligence.

What is the Business Problem or Opportunity

We are currently running OnBase 22.1, while Hyland's most recent Long-Term Release (LTR) is 25.1. Upgrading ensures we stay aligned with Hyland's recommended support lifecycle and positions us to take advantage of the latest enhancements in security, performance, and user experience.

Expected Benefit:

OnBase 25.1 introduces a modernized web interface, responsive Unity Forms, improved workflow tools, and expanded integration capabilities with platforms like Microsoft 365. It also lays the groundwork for future AI-powered features. This upgrade will improve user efficiency, reduce administrative overhead, and ensure our platform remains well-supported and scalable.
