Court staff would have to continue to take the time to add each participant individually

What is the Business Problem or Opportunity

This is unresolved change request #145

Court would like a process to enter an attorney onto multiple cases.

Create a Batch CSPA screen.

Expected Benefit:

Courts often receive stacks of Notice of Appearances for public defenders. It would save court staff time if they could have a screen to enter the attorney's BAR, participant type, and begin effective date, then a list of cases to attach them as a participant.

Request Summary:

This request is for an enhancement to enable courts to attach an attorney to multiple cases more easily. The courts wish to have a screen where they can enter the attorney's BAR Number and Begin Effective Date one time and then enter multiple case numbers on which to add that same attorney as a case participant.

Business Impacts:

This enhancement would allow Courts of Limited Jurisdiction staff to expedite the processing of Notice of Appearances for public defenders. Court staff would no longer have to loop through the CSPA screen for each case in order to associate the same attorney to multiple cases.

Summary of Proposed Solution

AOC would create a new screen to accommodate this enhancement. The user would be prompted to enter the attorney's BAR number, and the system would echo back the attorney information for confirmation. In order to add the attorney as a case participant, the user would enter a set of case numbers, similar to the batch processing available on the Batch Docketing (BDK) screen.

Proposed Solution

This request will be accomplished by AOC staff.

Request Summary:

The endorsing body has also requested that the batch removal of attorneys be analyzed as part of this effort.

Business Impacts:

CLJ staff will be able to add and remove attorneys through a batch process.

Summary of Proposed Solution

AOC would create two new screens to accommodate this enhancement. The first screen would be for a batch add process and the second for a batch remove.

Proposed Solution

On the batch add screen, the user would be prompted to enter the attorney's BAR number, and the system would echo back the attorney information for confirmation. In order to add the attorney as a case participant, the user would enter a set of case numbers, similar to the batch processing available on the Batch Docketing (BDK) screen. The batch remove screen would function in a similar manner.
