No, CJC
Canon 7(B)(2) provides that campaign committees should
solicit public statements of support from lawyers and
other persons.
Is that different from the candidate
doorbelling or appearing at gatherings and asking the attendees
to vote for the candidate and to encourage their friends
and family members to do the same thing?
A judicial candidate may doorbell
and attend public gatherings and ask people to vote for
the judicial candidate because those are different than
soliciting public statements of support.
The candidate may also
ask that they encourage friends and family members to
support the candidate.
