Yes.

Judge Quanah may order a contribution payable to a law related organization in lieu of a sanction payable to the county because it does not constitute a personal solicitation for funds from the public. (CJC Canon 4(C))

Judge Quanah may also give the lawyer the option to make a contribution to a civic or charitable organization. The judge should admonish the lawyer not to make the contribution to any organization which has a political agenda involving the legal system.

The judge should not specify the civic or charitable organization to which the contribution will be made. (Opinion 99-10)
