A Judicial Impact Note (JIN) is the best and most current estimate of costs and/or revenues generated by proposed legislation. Costs and/or revenues are estimated for both implementation of proposed legislation and for ongoing fiscal impacts.
The JIN provides information in a standardized format to allow the reader to quickly understand which sections of the proposed legislation have fiscal impact on Washington courts and what those impacts will be.
Upon preparation and approval by the Administrative Office of the Courts, copies of the approved JIN are sent to the entities identified in RCW 2.56.120(3).
