At a recent spring conference held in Richland, The District and Municipal Court Judges Association (DMCJA) elected officers to represent the 215 judges of Washington's courts of limited jurisdiction. Created by state statute, the association provides its members with continuing judicial education, recommends changes to civil and criminal court rules, and promotes improvement in judicial administration. 2000 officers include:
After serving for a year as the association's president-elect, Owens will assume the position of President at next year's DMCJA spring conference. Newly-elected Board of Trustees members include: Commissioner Virginia Rockwood, Spokane County District Court; Judge Holly A. Hollenbeck, Benton County District Court; and Judge James Docter of Bremerton Municipal Court. Additional board members include: Judge Whitener-Moberg; Judge Stephen J. Dwyer, Snohomish County District Court; Judge Charles J. Delaurenti II, King County District Court; Judge Alicia H. Nakata, Chelan County District Court; Judge Stephen R.
