More than 40 justices from six state supreme courts will gather in Seattle for the 3-day Pacific Northwest Judicial Conference. The event begins Thursday, August 27. Justices from Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and the Washington Supreme Court will address issues courts will face in the next century. The conference will run until Saturday, August 29. Its theme: "Vision 2020: Leadership into the 21st Century." The event will be hosted by the Washington Supreme Court. Justice Richard P. Guy is the conference organizer. Participants will be welcomed by Seattle Mayor Paul Schell at the Space Needle at 8 a.m., Thursday.
