Justice Richard B. Sanders will be inducted into the Washington State Supreme Court as its 94th justice, Friday, January 26. The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. in Olympia’s Temple of Justice. Before his election to the bench, Sanders, 50, practiced law for 26 years in Washington’s trial and appellate courts. Additional biographical information can be obtained by calling Robert M. Henderson at (360) 705-5319. State Supreme Court Chief Justice Barbara Durham, former Justice Robert F. Utter, Gov. Mike Lowry, state Sen. Pam Roach and attorney Jan Eric Peterson are scheduled to speak at the ceremony. Father Daniel Weber, S.J., will open the ceremony with the invocation and Rabbi Daniel Lapin will deliver the benediction.
