Washington Courts: Judicial News Report DetailCourt of Appeals to hear seven local appeals at Port Townsend High SchoolMarch 21, 2001
During a community visit on March 22nd, Division Two of the Washington State Court of Appeals will call Port Townsend High School home. The court will convene at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday morning in the high school auditorium to hear oral arguments on seven actual cases from Jefferson and Clallam Counties. Presiding Chief Judge David H. Armstrong, Acting Chief Judge J. Robin Hunt and Judge Christine Quinn-Brintnall, sitting as a three-judge panel, will hear arguments on the cases before students, teachers and observers from the public:

The Court will hear argument on the first five cases in the morning, then recess for lunch, where they will be joined by Jefferson County Superior Court Judge Thomas Majhan ,District Court Judge Mark Huth, and the sophomore future Mock Trial team members. They will be available to answer questions from students and the public as time allows. The Court will reconvene at 1:00 to hear argument on the last two cases of the day. The public is invited to attend, but the school asks that visitors check in at the office on arrival. Division Two of the Washington State Court of Appeals has made community visits throughout its geographic area since 1993. The Court hears appeals from trial courts throughout Western Washington, Pierce County south to the Oregon border and the Olympic Peninsula, and has the authority to overrule, remand, or modify or affirm decisions of the lower courts.
