Supreme Court Inauguration Ceremony Monday, January 12 at 9:30 a.m.

OLYMPIA, WA—Justices Charles W. Johnson, Mary Fairhurst and Debra L. Stephens will be sworn into six-year terms of office on the Washington Supreme Court on Monday, January 12, 2009. The inaugural ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Temple of Justice in Olympia.

Gerry Alexander will also be sworn in as the longest-serving Chief Justice in Washington State history. Alexander is the state Supreme Court’s 54th chief justice, recently elected unanimously by his fellow justices to a third term. He will present his State of the Judiciary Address in a joint meeting of the Washington State Legislature on January 16th at 11:30 a.m.
