Washington Supreme Court to Honor Justices Brachtenbach, Callow

On Thursday, April 30, 2009, the Washington State Supreme Court will hold a memorial for Justice Robert F. Brachtenbach and Justice Keith Callow. The memorial will be held in the Temple of Justice Courtroom in Olympia, commencing at 9:00 a.m.
JUSTICE ROBERT FRANCIS BRACHTENBACH
January 28, 1931 - May 2, 2008
Justice Robert F. Brachtenbach was a member of the Supreme Court for more than 22 years, serving as Chief Justice in 1981-1983. He came to the court in November, 1972, after appointment by Governor Daniel J. Evans, and was elected in 1973, and re-elected in 1976, 1982 and 1988.
JUSTICE KEITH McLEAN CALLOW
January 11, 1925 — April 4, 2008
Keith M. Callow, a native Washingtonian, was elected to the Washington State Supreme Court in 1984. His career included over 20 years of law and practice, and 21 years as a judge at three levels of Washington courts: the Superior Court, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
