Public welcome as Washington Court of Appeals, Div. II hears cases in Cowlitz County on Oct. 16

The Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II, will hear oral arguments outside of its regular Tacoma courtroom during a community visit to Kelso, in Cowlitz County, on Monday, Oct. 16.

The hearings will begin at 9 a.m. in the County Administrative Building at 207 4th Ave. North, Kelso, in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room on the Third Floor, Room 303. The public is welcome to attend the oral arguments and, at the end of the session, ask questions about the Court of Appeals.

The Court of Appeals Division II is headquartered in Tacoma and hears appeals of case outcomes from trial courts throughout much of Western Washington.

Beginning at 9 a.m., a panel of judges will hear arguments in the following cases:
 

Emerald Enterprises and John Larson, Appellants v. Clark County, Respondent (COWLITZ)
Duration: 20 minutes for each side

Nicholas Mortensen, v. Appellant v. Robert Moravec, et al, Respondents (CLARK)
Duration: 15 minutes for each side

State of Washington, Respondent v Pamela S. Benberg, Appellant (COWLITZ)
Duration: 15 minutes for each side
