The Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II, will travel to Lacey October 22 to hear oral arguments at St. Martin’s University in three cases on appeal from Thurston, Spokane and Cowlitz county superior courts. The public is welcome to attend. The oral arguments will begin at 9 a.m. at the university’s Norman Worthington Center, 5300 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey, WA, 98503. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Bradley Maxa, Judge Lisa Sutton, Judge Rebecca Glasgow, and Judge Anne Cruser will sit on the panels hearing the cases. Oral arguments for each appeals case include 15 minutes of arguments for each side of the case. Cases to be heard include:
The Court of Appeals Division II hears appeals of cases from the superior courts in Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, Wahkiakum, Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, Thurston and Pierce counties. The Court has the authority to overrule, remand, modify, or affirm decisions of the superior court. The Court generally hears oral arguments on appeals cases at its courthouse in Tacoma, but travels when possible to hear arguments in other locations to give members of the public in those areas easier availability to attend oral arguments.
