SKAGIT COUNTY – Judge David Svaren announces that Skagit County District Court will conduct the tenth annual “Mock Trial” in conjunction with Law Day on May 1, 2006.  The "mock trial" will be held in Skagit County Superior Court Rm. #2 and begin at 9:00 am. Washington State Chief Justice Gerry Alexander will be on hand to observe the trial and will be the key note speaker at the annual Law Day Luncheon scheduled at noon at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon.

Fourteen students from the 5^{th 6th} -7^th grade classes and their principle Ms. Woodmansee and teacher Ms. Vanderkooy at Mount Vernon Viewcrest Christian School will be participating in the “Mock Trial.”  Judge Skelton, Ms. Deblynne Whittlesey and Ms. Marcella Sheridan of Skagit County District Court, Ms. Toni Guzzo, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and Mr. Corbin Volluz, a local attorney are currently involved in working with the class to help them prepare the trial.
